The English owned Hotel Rosamar is in the centre of the gay quarter on AVINGUDA JOAN MIRO. (The use of the Catallan spelling for place names can cause confusion as some older guide books and maps use Castillian Spanish but JOAN MIRO does not change)

Immediately opposite the hotel is a small square which is the roof a large underground car park.

Bus stops are near by ask for Placa Gomila

If you use the Rosamar as a focal point you cant go wrong. Nearly all venues are within a 200m walk from the hotel.The hotel has an open air bar (subject only to weather) with “happy hour” prices until around 9.00pm. Most venues do not open until 11.00pm or even later making the Rosamar the ideal starting point for a visit to gay Palma

Gay life in  Mallorca is focused on a small area in Palma. Most bars, clubs. hotels and other venues are within 200m of each other on the Avinguda Joan Miro which runs parallel to the harbour front.

Gay life is Palma is very different from that on nearby Ibiza it is far less “in your face” and considerably less international. Generally the locals are very welcoming to visitors but always remember this is their home and their customs and habits may differ from yours.

The gay “village” lies beneath the landmark castle Belver which stands on the hill to the western side of Palma de Mallorca.

The district is called EL TERRENO What ever means of transport you use it is hard to miss this  building.

From the sea front road look for the Hotel Victoria, this is a major conference  hotel with a substantial sea frontage. The rear entrance to the hotel marks the approximate Palma side start of the gay quarter which then runs along  AVINGUDA JOAN MIRO towards Palma Nova for about 1km.
